PHINMA Education has garnered the trust of 124,501 students in the academic year 2022-2023 — a remarkable achievement marking the highest number of enrollees in the network’s 19-year history. The network’s commitment to academic excellence and campus improvements has resulted in an outstanding 30.4% increase in enrollment compared to the previous year, propelling a 19% year-on-year revenue growth, consolidating revenues of PHP4.5B.
With nine (09) schools in the Philippines and one (01) in Indonesia, PHINMA Education has become a formidable presence in the region. The network’s dedication to academic success is evident in the consistently high board passing rates and recognition of its students and institutions across various disciplines nationwide. In the licensure exams for the SY 22-23, PHINMA Education students achieved an impressive overall passing rate of 79% for first-time takers.
“We believe that the success of our students is much more meaningful because of their lives’ circumstances. Underserved, first-generation students who are able to pursue dignified lives and make the lives of others better too,” according to Ramon del Rosario, Jr., PHINMA Corporation Chairman and CEO.
Several schools within the network shone in their respective fields, with PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC) and Southwestern University (SWU) PHINMA securing top spots in Criminology and Optometry, respectively.
Graduates of PHINMA Education’s institutions showcased their excellence in board exams, posting remarkable passing rates in various disciplines. Fields such as Nursing (98%), Electrical Engineering (98%), Elementary Education (92%), Optometry (90%), Dentistry (90%), Pharmacy (89%), and Mechanical Engineering (85%) witnessed stellar results. The network proudly celebrated the achievement of 27 topnotchers in these exams, adding to a grand total of 143 topnotchers since 2004.
“This year is a convergence of our model continuing to show promise, the growing need for the services we provide, and our business doing well in all aspects. We hope to be able to reach more and more underserved students who need quality education the most, so that they can uplift themselves, their families, and communities,” explained Dr. Chito Salazar, PHINMA Education President and CEO during a press briefing held last 17 July 2023 in Makati City.
“We found the sweet spot in terms of the right price and tuition fees, for the right kind of kids that we really target — the low-income kids… we manage to bring them the kind of quality education that they need to get a good job,” added Dr. Salazar.
PHINMA Education’s expansion into Indonesia proved successful, with Horizon Karawang, its first school in the country, making significant strides. Two (02) students from this institution, Muhammad Rakha and Meisya Rafacintya, were selected for the regional Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation — NEXTGen Leadership Program. The duo will contribute to projects focused on mental health in Asia, exemplifying the network’s commitment to holistic development.
Highlighting the strong employability of its graduates, PHINMA Education’s in-house Analytics Group reported that an impressive 71% of students secured employment within one year of graduation. This figure is expected to improve in the upcoming years, emphasizing the network’s focus on producing job-ready professionals.
The education network’s dedication to social impact and community development is evident through its Making the Lives of Others Better (MLOB) Fellowship Program. The initiative encourages students, employees, and communities to contribute to the network’s mission using their own resources, fostering a culture of giving back and making a positive difference in society.
As the number of students steadily grows, the organization has responded by opening two new campuses: PHINMA COC Iligan Campus and PHINMA Araullo University (AU) San Jose Campus. Additionally, the network has completed renovations in PHINMA Saint Jude College Quezon City (SJC QC), PHINMA Rizal College of Laguna (RCL), and Horizon Karawang in West Java, Indonesia. A new Dentistry building has also been established at SWU PHINMA, while another building is currently under construction at PHINMA University of Pangasinan (UPang).
PHINMA Education’s remarkable achievements in the academic year 2022-2023 are a testament to its unwavering commitment to providing quality education and nurturing future leaders. With a strong focus on academic excellence, community impact, and infrastructure development, the network continues to solidify its position as a leading educational institution in Southeast Asia.
