The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority(SBMA), InterCommerce Network Services, Inc. (InterCommerce), and MYEG Philippines (MYEG PH) have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the acceptance and processing of SBMA’s online payment in Electronic Billing and Payment System (eBPS) last 14 July 2022. eBPS is SBMA’s solution to the growing payment transactions as it allows locators and residents to pay their billing statements online anytime, anywhere. The system is SBMA’s innovation to improve service to locators and residents.
The agreement was signed by SBMA Chairman and Administrator Rolen Paulino, InterCommerce President and Chief Executive Officer Francis Norman Lopez, and MyEG Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ann Margaret Saldaña.
“Because of the restrictions brought by the pandemic, business locators, concessionaires, and residents of SBMA has been looking for more options and ways to pay for their fees and dues. Add to that, the agency also has to fulfill its obligations with the Ease of Doing Business Act, at the same time, with the requirements of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for opening digital payment services. That is why we are grateful for this partnership with InterCommerce and MYEG Philippines automating our payment collections and also providing citizens a variety of payment options to settle their accounts and do it at their preferred convenience,” according to Rolen Paulino, SBMA Chairman and Administrator.
At present, SBMA business locators, concessionaires, and residents transact manually to pay their fees — by going to the SBMA office cashier counters. Through this partnership, payers will only need to register and login to SBMA’s Electronic Billing & Payment System (eBPS) via https://ebps.intercommerce.com.ph/SBMA to perform transactions online with several payment options like E-Wallets (GCash, Maya, ShopeePay, and GrabPay), Online Bank Transfer (BPI, BDO, UnionBank, RCBC, and Maybank), and Credit/Debit Card, while cash payments are still available from any 7-Eleven, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Express, Bayad Center, SM Malls, Robinsons Department Store, Tambunting Pawnshop, RD Pawnshop, USSC, Posible, and DA5 nationwide.
“The Electronic Billing and Payment System (eBPS) allows for a more convenient way for businesses and residents to facilitate payments at the convenience of their own homes or offices, giving them access to more payment options with our partnership with MyEG. From the pandemic and now gas prices going up, we have more options to do our transactions in just a few clicks away,” said Francis Norman Lopez, InterCommerce President and Chief Executive Officer.
The InterCommerce Network Services, Inc. offers B2B electronic commerce solutions and networking facilities to Philippine businesses and government agencies, linking them with their local and global trading partners. Its Web-based Customs Declaration System or WebCWS makes the Customs entry lodgment process fast and easy as customs brokers who are always on the go can prepare import entry declarations anytime, anywhere.
The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is the operating and implementing arm of the Government of the Philippines that develops and manages the Subic Bay Freeport, which provides tax and duty-free privileges and incentives to business locators in the special economic zone. The SBMA’s mission is to grow the Freeport into an environmentally sustainable community, where Locators are ahead of their competitors and our Stakeholders enjoy the highest quality of life and it aims to be the leading Eco-urban Freeport in Southeast Asia.
“MyEG has been in full support with the government even before and particularly during the pandemic through our projects automating government services. This year, we are more than honored to partner with InterCommerce and SBMA in providing a safer, faster, and more convenient way for business locators, concessionaires, and residents to process and pay their SBMA fees. We are confident that with our years of proven experience working with government units, we’ll be able to make it easier for SBMA to accept and process multiple payments to the 90,000 payment channels we have while giving the citizens a seamless online transaction experience through eBPS,” said Ann Margaret Saldaña, Chief Executive Officer of MYEG Philippines.
