Marking a major milestone in the digital transformation of Philippine healthcare, homegrown tech company 1Life Inc. has launched DocMate AI, the country’s first AI-powered doctor’s assistant platform. This groundbreaking innovation is built to support medical professionals in delivering more efficient care while expanding access to preventive healthcare services, especially in underserved and remote communities nationwide.
DocMate AI harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning by leveraging insights from 1Life’s extensive database of over 750,000 patients. The platform assists doctors by analyzing diagnostic tests, medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant patient data. It then offers suggested diagnoses, helping to reduce physician workload, minimize diagnostic errors, and lower treatment costs.
Despite integrating cutting-edge AI, 1Life emphasizes that DocMate AI only serves as a support tool — ensuring that all medical decisions remain under the supervision and validation of licensed healthcare professionals.
The platform was officially unveiled during a medical mission in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Novaliches, Quezon City earlier today. More than 200 indigent residents received free diagnostic services, demonstrating the platform’s real-world application and impact.
“Technology has proven itself to be a tool with limitless possibilities to transform healthcare. With the introduction of DocMate AI, we further our vision in ensuring access to quality care can be within reach for Filipinos, particularly those from geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Having served nearly 1 million patients from Aparri to General Santos City, including isolated islands and mountain communities, 1Life is committed to reaching every Filipino in need, regardless of location or income,” according to 1Life President Niño Namoco.
Namoco also addressed the country’s pressing healthcare issue: the lack of medical practitioners. The Philippines has only 3.7 doctors for every 10,000 people — far below the World Health Organization’s recommended 10. DocMate AI is envisioned to bridge this gap by supporting doctors in delivering timely, accurate, and efficient care, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
Beyond diagnostics, DocMate AI enables a streamlined, one-hour healthcare experience that reduces the typical “4-day problem” many Filipinos face when seeking care. By condensing multiple visits and eliminating the need for long commutes, 1Life offers portable, on-site diagnostics, medication delivery, and personalized lifestyle recommendations powered by AI.
1Life aims to collaborate with local government units to expand DocMate AI’s reach, reduce congestion in public health centers, and drive down costs through early intervention strategies.
