The Philippine Community eCenter Network, Inc. (PhilCecNet) has announced the return of the highly anticipated 18th Knowledge Exchange Conference (KEC 18), scheduled to take place from 19 to 22 July 2023 at Newtown Plaza Hotel in Baguio City. This year’s conference, themed “Digital Inclusion and Transformation for All: People, Potentials, and Partnerships on Advanced Technologies and Innovations,” signifies a significant milestone as it marks the resumption of in-person conferencing after a prolonged hiatus due to the global pandemic.

The conference aims to bring together a diverse array of participants, including representatives from national government agencies, local government units, academia, CeC (Community eCenter) managers and users, media, private sector entities, government-owned and controlled corporations, and non-government organizations. This convergence of stakeholders ensures a comprehensive and inclusive approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities of digital inclusion and transformation.

“We are thrilled to bring back the essence of personal interactions, vibrant discussions and shared experiences that can only be achieved through face-to-face conferencing. After a challenging period, KEC 18 will be a significant occasion for all participants, allowing us to reconnect, reinvigorate and renew our commitment to bring information and communications technology and its life-changing opportunities to Filipinos nationwide,” according to Dr. Richard E. Amansec, President of PhilCeCNet.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas, insights, and experiences through a variety of Table Sessions. These sessions, which combine elements of the World Café and PhilCeCNet’s traditional Market Place of Ideas, offer an unconventional un-conferencing experience utilizing a new literacy currency known as LiTCoin. The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including experts and industry leaders in the field of ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) and public internet access. Participants can look forward to an enriching program consisting of keynote speeches, interactive panel discussions involving the audience, and engaging networking activities.

The return of the Knowledge Exchange Conference signifies a turning point for the PhilCecNet community as it embraces the power of face-to-face interactions in driving digital inclusion and transformation. With its inclusive and forward-thinking approach, KEC 18 is poised to spark innovative ideas, foster collaboration, and propel the nation’s journey toward a digitally empowered future.
