About IPMS-Philippines
IPMS-Philippines BA is a non-profit, non-stock organization composed of professional scale modelers established by Alberto “Bert” Anido in June 1968. The organization was tapped to provide model kits in what would be known as the “First Philippine Modelers Show” sponsored by the Alumni Organization of the Ateneo de Manila University in 1982. Ten years after that event, in 1992 IPMS-Philippines held the “Plastic Storm” exhibit at the Ayala Museum in light of the Operation Dessert Storm (Gulf War).
IPMS-Philippines members like Hermie Landayan and Jim Gonzales were able to participate in competitions sponsored by IPMS-USA. Hermie’s 1/48 Aloutte Chopper won 1st Place, while Jim’s 1/48 Grumman Skyrocket bagged the 2nd Place during the competition.
